Georgia Pediatric Nurses Association

The Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has recently established a companion organization to the Chapter, the Georgia Pediatric Nurses Association (GPNA).

Purpose:

GPNA will provide educational and networking opportunities for pediatric nurses and other clinical staff in our members’ offices.

Membership:

All RNs and LPNs in Georgia are eligible for membership in GPNA.  Other clinical staff members (physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, certified nurse assistants, etc.) are invited to attend biannual educational meetings.

Dues for joining GPNA are $ 35.00 per year.  Benefits of GPNA include discounted registration fees for biannual meetings, networking with peers and continuing education.

For an additional $ 35.00 per year, nurses can also become members of the Georgia Chapter/AAP as an Associate member.  This entitles he/she to additional benefits like Chapter newsletters, directories, discounts to chapter meetings and much more.  An additional application is not required for Georgia Chapter/AAP membership for GPNA members, you only need to check the box on the GPNA application.

Goals & Objectives:

GPNA will hold biannual meetings that provide up-to-date information to our member’s clinical staff, opportunities for networking, idea exchange and problem solving.  GPNA will also work closely with the Georgia Chapter/AAP on relevant pediatric issues.

For questions regarding GPNA call (404) 881-5067 or email us at ksumpter@gaaap.org.

Meeting Information:

The next meeting of the GPNA will be scheduled in the fall.  We will send an email reminder as soon as the date is finalized.  Check back soon for a copy of the brochure.

All GPNA members will receive a survey via email regarding the meetings.  We want to hear from the members on the preference of locations, dates and topics for future meetings.  Please take a moment to respond when you receive this survey.

Steering Committee:

The bi-annual meetings are planned by the GPNA Steering Committee.  If you are interested in participating in the steering committee contact us at ksumpter@gaaap.org.   We are looking for steering committee members to represent all areas of the state.
