Mission Statement
The Young Physicians Section of the Georgia Chapter AAP has been established to provide a forum/network for young physicians in the state of Georgia. The committee will include and benefit young physicians who have been practicing for less than 10 years or are less than 40 years of age. Our goal, through this section, is to provide a strong foundation and support network for young pediatric physicians. This section will provide a forum that will enable other young physicians to directly communicate with each other regarding issues that relate specifically to us. These issues can then be resolved through resources made available by our committee. The agenda will include, but not exclude, the following:
1. Provide outreach, support for Young Physicians new to Georgia. 2. Financial planning and debt management counseling. 3. Family planning and support network for mothers and father. 4. Physician employment clearinghouse (i.e. job fairs with residency programs in Georgia, etc.). 5. Medical practice guidelines and related clinical issues. 6. Legislative issues/Bills affecting young physicians and children in Georgia. 7. Legal counseling (i.e. contract reviews, current status of medical malpractice, etc.). 8. Recruitment into the Georgia Chapter and National AAP. 9. Provide network for involvement in other committees, organizations, charities and fund raising, etc. 10. Community Involvement (i.e. providing ways to become active in communities, etc.). For
