State Legislature Concludes 2014 Session

On Thursday, March 20, at 12 midnight, the Georgia General Assembly adjourned “sine die” and ended its 2014 session. Many issues were decided at the Gold Dome that impact children and the profession of pediatrics. ACA Medicaid Payment Increases to Pediatricians Finally Underway

The payment increases (to Medicare rates) required by the ACA for calendar years 2013 and 2014 finally began in late February by the CMO’s in the Georgia Medicaid program. Children in Foster Care transitioned to Georgia Families 360 / Amerigroup (Posted March 25, 2014)

On March 3, 2014 the Georgia Department of Community Health transitioned children in foster care, children receiving adoption assistance and select youth in the juvenile justice system to the Georgia Care Management Organization, Amerigroup (also known as Georgia Families 360°). The Georgia AAP has been working closely with Amerigroup and the Department of Community Health to assure a smooth transition.
