georgia-legSenate Committee Backs $26M to Boost Medicaid Rates; Budget Bill Moves Forward

On Monday,  at the Georgia legislature, the Senate Appropriations Committee  approved its version of the FY 2017 state budget. In it, they agreed with the House position, which had added $26.2M to increase 32 CPT Codes to 2014 Medicare rates.

This means we are one step closer to our goal of increasing payment rates for these 32 codes to Medicare rates this year.  The bill now goes to the Conference Committee, where House and Senate leaders hammer out the differences in the versions. However, since there is no disagreement on our item, odds are favorable that the number (26.2M) will be left intact.

At this point, we are asking no particular action by our members.  (However, if you know one of the members of the Conference Committee, listed on our website, I would appreciate hearing from you.)  But otherwise, we will keep you posted on the next steps, which will take place in the next 2 weeks. The General Assembly adjourns for the year  on March 24.

Thanks you for your efforts on this issue so far. As a reminder, our Coalition includes the FP, IM, OB-GYN Associations, and an addition the Chapter.
