AAP Guidance on Congressional Report on Heavy Toxic Metals in Baby Foods

On Thursday, Feb.4, 2021 a congressional report identified leading baby food manufacturers knowingly sold baby food that contained high levels of toxic heavy metals; arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury at levels that exceed what experts and governing bodies say are permissible. The AAP Committee on Nutrition and the Council on Environmental Health has shared an article on healthchildren.org to provide guidance to pediatricians and families in response of this report.
