The focus for T4CIP National Day of Action will be the prevention of ingestion of high-powered rare earth magnets.
The focus for T4CIP National Day of Action will be the prevention of ingestion of high-powered rare earth magnets. This is an issue that should concern all pediatricians as these “toys” have caused thousands of injuries, ‘needless’ surgical interventions, and are considered to be amongst the most dangerous ingestions in children. A home with children should not house high-powered rare earth magnets. Join the conversation on May 19th by voicing your concern on social media throughout the day using #MagnetSafety. T4CIP will be hosting a Twitter chat from 1-2 p.m. ET using the same hashtag. Contact your local senator or congressperson and let them know why this is so important! Pass along the message to your staff, colleagues, trainees, and patients! If you would like to share additional information such as social media posts, infographics, selfie signs, & presentations can be found at http://bit.ly/T4CIP2021
